Digital literacy

About the project

In 2016/17, we received a grant from the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion to deliver tailored digital technology workshops for three specific CALD communities in the Adelaide Metropolitan area; Arabic, Spanish and Ukrainian speaking groups focusing on the 40-65 year age group to build skills, knowledge capacity and self-reliance in accessing services relevant to their needs.

Project Outcomes

We worked with 20 participants through this project focussing on developing, strengthening knowledge, increasing confidence and creating enhanced understanding and familiarity with IT terms.

Participants reported greater confidence and capability following the training which provided them with “skills they never thought they would acquire” and some expressed their willingness to become IT mentors and coaches to other members of the community.
