About the project

The Opening Doors Tool Box aimed to recruit, train and support veterans to connect with relevant local services and support engagements with their local and wider communities.

The Opening Doors Tool Box helped guide Veterans through transition to civilian life while building better digital literacy skills and knowledge to continue supporting Veterans and Ex Service Organisations. The Opening Doors – Tech and Wellbeing Toolbox was supported by the RSL SA/NT and facilitated by Catalyst Foundation to support the Health and Wellbeing of Veterans and their families. 

Project Outcomes

  • Education and training using digital devices for Veterans and their families.

  • Increase your confidence in using digital devices.

  • Understand e-safety and passwords.

  • Use a MyGov account.

  • Start online shopping and banking.

  • Connect to social media, including Facebook.

  • Share holiday photos with family.

  • Be scam-aware and scam-safe.

  • Support the upskill & training of Veteran mentors and volunteers.
