Toward A Safe Place (TASP)

Course Overview

Toward a Safe Place (TASP) is specialised training designed to build the knowledge and skills of workers supporting LGBTIQA+ people experiencing family and domestic violence and abuse. This workshop explores the dynamics of family and domestic violence and abuse within LGBTIQA+ relationships and communities, including the unique forms of abuse experienced, systemic limitations and discrimination, lack of inclusive services and barriers that impact on access to appropriate support.

It combines research, lived-experience perspectives, and practical service-delivery insights. Participants build a deeper understanding of how services and support workers can recognise, respond safely, respectfully, and effectively support people experiencing violence.

Delivered by experienced facilitators, the workshop provides a thoughtful and practical space for reflection, learning and professional development.
