Medicine and healing garden
Students from the Young Doctors group (Aboriginal students in leadership roles) planted out an indigenous garden and have been supporting its ongoing maintenance. This was a great learning opportunity as nearly all the plants are from the Adelaide Plains area and would have been used by the Kaurna people.
The positive ageing In Kaurna County communities through traditional foods, medicines and remedies project aimed to create awareness of the importance of retaining and collating information on Healing with Traditional Foods, Medicines and Remedies in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as well as the wider community.
Catalyst Foundation Aboriginal Project Officer and Kaurna Plains Children's Centre staff along with Aboriginal Elders and Community worked together to create a Community Produce Garden on the site of the Kaurna Plains Children's Centre at 69 Ridley Road, Elizabeth.
