Aged Care Navigation Support
Catalyst Foundation and COASIT (SA) partner to support Adelaide’s older Italian community through regular visits to social programs. Working alongside COASIT (SA) staff, we provide culturally appropriate guidance to help participants understand aged care, navigate My Aged Care, and access services that support safe, independent living at home.
Chinese Communities - Aged Care Navigation Support
Catalyst Foundation partners with Chinese Welfare Services to deliver ongoing aged-care information sessions for Mandarin and Cantonese social groups. Using professional interpreters and translated resources, we provide culturally appropriate guidance that builds understanding of aged care and supports informed choices to remain independent at home.
The Positive Ageing Images – Wellness Gallery showcases vibrant, real-life representations of ageing. Created through a public photography competition, the free image library supports organisations to promote positive, strengths-based portrayals of older people across websites, publications and community communications.
Choices - Successful Transition to Retirement and Community Living
Catalyst Foundation and SARVRA deliver information sessions for people considering retirement village living, funded by the Office for Ageing Well. The sessions explain upcoming 2026 legislative changes, clarify rights and contracts, and support informed decision-making about retirement village and community living options.
Catalyst Foundation supports social connection and access to information for Adelaide’s over-50s LGBTIQA+ communities. Through monthly social programs and a growing newsletter, we promote inclusion, reduce isolation, and share relevant information on events, health, supports and aged-care updates.

Women 45
The Women45 Collaborative supported unemployed, self-employed women and those working in jobs and business to network, up-skill and learn about business development, leadership, employment and economic enterprise.
The positive ageing In Kaurna County communities through traditional foods, medicines and remedies project aimed to create awareness of the importance of retaining and collating information on Healing with Traditional Foods, Medicines and Remedies in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as well as the wider community.
Catalyst Foundation Aboriginal Project Officer and Kaurna Plains Children's Centre staff along with Aboriginal Elders and Community worked together to create a Community Produce Garden on the site of the Kaurna Plains Children's Centre at 69 Ridley Road, Elizabeth.
The Veterans Connect and Wellbeing Program used a proactive, inclusive approach to assist Veterans and their families. The project supported individuals to navigate the complex system of Veteran services available in South Australia.
Opening doors tech and wellbeing toolbox for veterans
The Opening Doors Tool Box aimed to recruit, train and support veterans to connect with relevant local services and support engagements with their local and wider communities.
In 2016/17, Catalyst Foundation delivered tailored digital technology workshops for Arabic, Spanish and Ukrainian CALD communities aged 40-65 across metropolitan Adelaide, building skills, confidence and self-reliance in accessing relevant services.
Spanish and Vietnamese women and men shared migration stories in a short film, with 18 participants attending four tablet workshops, culminating in filming during the final session.
During 2016/17, Catalyst Foundation partnered with UniSA to deliver a CALD mediation project raising domestic violence awareness, understanding elder abuse, and training Community Champions statewide communities.
Catalyst Foundation developed an evidence-based domestic violence education toolbox for CALD men, focused on African communities, empowering leaders and mentors through culturally appropriate, community-endorsed strategies.
Students from the Young Doctors group (Aboriginal students in leadership roles) planted and maintain an indigenous garden, learning about Adelaide Plains plants traditional used by the Kaurna people through hands-on cultural leadership experience.
